Digidesign digi002 with firewire repeater?

I want to locate my Mac G5 computer remotly from the digi002. I will
need about 42 ft. of cable to acomplishe this task. Can I use
firewire repaters sucesfully with the digi002? Does anyone have
experience with the Gefen 33 ft. firewire cable or their repeaters?
