Default Intrepid dash speaker location

I dont have first hand experience, so can only discus theories...

Sounds like youre on the right track. Good imaging is partially the
result of equal path lengths from speakers to listener. The less the
path length difference between RH and LH the better the stereo image
(generally). Thats the principle behind under-dash wave guided drivers,
and center channel speakers. Youre on the right track with a large
dash, that places the speakers at the corners, far away from the
listeners. This will help to minimize path length differences between
the RH and LH sides.

You may run into difficulty with high frequency sound cancellation, with
the highs bouncing off the glass. On an RTA it would show up as a dip
or void in certain freq bands. But many times what looks good on an RTA
sounds lousy to the ears.

Good Luck

I have a Dodge Intrepid and thought that the cab forward design
with the long dash would provide an excellent opportunity to
achieve a good soundstage by putting a tweeter and small
mid-range way back in the corners, with mid-bass in the doors.

Anyone have firsthand experience with something like this?
Does this make sense or are there problems I'm not aware
of?
