Hi,
I hope someone here can help me out. I bought the soundtrack to Lord of the Rings, Return of the King. I am a figure skater and i went to edit the music on my computer and when put the cd in it launches a piece of art work. You can register online thru this screen and then click out of it, but when i went into various editing programs ot grab the track i needed- only files show up, no tracks. the files are five small files that are related to the artwork screen. I am on a MAC and i can play the music with my apple cd player but i can't save a file from there it is just a player. Has anyone ever had this happen with a music cd? This is not a DVD and it is the orig. copy from FYE. Thanks Judy |

You should be able to launch iTunes and the audio part of the CD will show up in
it. Then Import the files. Judy wrote: Hi, I hope someone here can help me out. I bought the soundtrack to Lord of the Rings, Return of the King. Everyone will be telling you to use iTunes, Apple's current CD/mp3 playing application, but since you mention the Apple CD Player, I take it you are on an older operating system, like OS 8.6. The CD you have has a data part (which contains the graphics) and an audio part. Usually, you would see both of them on your desktop. You could then easily extract the audio to a file on your computer. In some cases, the audio disc doesn't "mount". A specialized program for audio extraction will still be able to "see" the audio, but many regular programs rely on the operating system to "mount" the audio CD part first. If you don't see "Audio CD" on your desktop, they won't see it either. That's the situation you seem to be stuck in. Program that still work in this situation are Toast Audio Extractor and Astarte CD-Copy. They look at the CD directly, bypassing the operating system. As to why your audio CD doesn't mount, it's probably an extension problem. Chris ______________________________________ Please remove the r from my address to reply by email |
