Hi,

I'm thinking about buying a pair of these for doing basic mixes in my
home studio (g4, mbox) , as well as for post audio. Obviously I'm on
a budget and am looking for the best bang for the buck for my
monitors. Any one with experience with the Yorkville YSM1p's, I'd
greatly appreciate your input.
Thanks,
AdamH

I had some for a while, it's worth it trying to listen to them to see if you
like them. I didn't get rid of them becasue I didn't like them, I just liked
Event 20/20bas's better because they seemed like they could help me solve
some problems I was having mixing with heavily manipulated sounds.

Listen to some of your mixes on them and see what you find. From what I
understand about post video, they should be fine for that.

I used them for a while and found that they are a bit muddy and the highs
are particularly transparent, but nothing major, especially considering the
price. They were plenty loud and didn't pour out enourmous amounts of heat.

One (strange) comment about them i received while in a store from a guy who
normally used Genelecs and such was that "these monitors are crappy enough
that you feel like you are monitoring through a GREAT generic boom-box, and
if you're making sound geared for that playback medium, they're good. But
they are also good enough that you can make the mix work."

So there ya go.

I like them. You would have to pay a lot more to get something better.
