Default Subsonic Filters?

I was taking a look at a few Autobahn amps and I noticed that most of them
have a low pass freq of 50-120 Hz, which doesn't seem very low at all. But
it has a sub sonicfilter of 20-50 Hz. What exactly is the purpose of a
subsonic filter, and does it mean the amp can hit as low as 20Hz, and not
the 50Hz as I had first believed.

Thanks

The 50-120 Hz crossover is to direct low frequencies from woofers to
subs. The infrasonic filter blocks low frequencies that none of your
speakers can handle. You probably have no need for an infrasonic filter
unless you're making recordings off a turntable.

a sub-sonic filter means its gonna protect your woofers from sounds
below 20-50 hz (its your choice).
if youre using 10" subs i'd use the filter but if your running 12's or
15's i'd switch it off!

Don't base it on size of subs - base it on the tuning frequency of a
ported
enclosure (if your using one). If your running a sealed box - you should
have no problem with the subsonic filter turned off.

Exactly right. But that's not to say that a subsonic filter isn't a good
feature on a sealed box as well.
