hi,
this is my first post, so here goes: i've just recently bought an m-box, and am running on an apple ibook (256 mb, os x 10.2.4, 900mhz g3). now, when i first installed it, everything ran fine, until a few days later when whenever i opened up a session there would be no regular audio, just a crackling sound where the tracks should be (sort of: KKKKCCCHHHHHHH). i updated to pro tools 6.1.2 (i was originally on 6), and updated the core audio drivers and this seemed to return things to normal for about two weeks, i had no real problems at all (except for every now and then - about once every time i worked on a session - getting a 'increase hardware buffer size' message) until today when it reverted to its old tricks and started making a grating, crackling sound where the audio should be. i can't seem to figure out how to get around this, no re-starting or shutting down seems to fix it. i know that i'm running with below the recommended amount of RAM, but is that really the problem? why would it then work sometimes? please give me some advice, or tell me if i'm the only one having this problem! it's driving me nuts. |
