Default what: is the best voltage rating for audio signal input to an amp?

please dont!
if u do then your friends will make fun of u.
your signal doesnt change when u flip sources.
your headunit has a steady voltage which it puts out regardles of the
source your playing.
tyr this:
lets say your headunit has a max vol of 30, set it on 22-24 then go to
your amp and start moving the gain knob until you hear the sound
starting to distort.
turn down a little and there u have it-a perfect gain-to-signal match.
keep me posted!
