Default M-audio Quattro, does it work?

I'm looking for a USB-sound card for home recording with a desk top computer
and acoustic field measurements with a lap top. 24-bit resolution and
balanced line level ins and outs are must! M-audio Quattro seems to fit my
budget. Any information about how it works with WIN98SE and XP are well
come. Also would be nice to hear comments about its sound quality.
