master tracks --- to the horror of the George Martin and Co.

I NEVER mix naked. I always have to be fully clothed.

I SING naked, though. Or if I'm trying to hit some really high notes I'll put
on a pair of pants two sizes too small.

I find it hard to believe Paul wasn't involved. Like someone else just
said "it's more of a Paul mix" because many of the songs are on the
anthologies. Glad someone agrees with me.

I'd like to hear the whole story too before I waste $15 on a record,
and I do mean record and who am I trying to kid it'll cost me $25 lol

Yuck, thanks for the story though I for one appreciate it. I wont be
buying that. Not just because they used digital editing but I hear
they also kept certain songs in tact anyway(I me Mine). Additionally
the songs naked if you will might make them sound weak. I thought the
takes on the anthologies sounded thin because my brain was acustomed
to hearing the strings etc. Did they use digital editing on the
anthologies too?

So far from what I've heard "The Long & Winding Road" suffers from the

Well when you think about it, it was only Paul's songs that had
serious treatment. Although I think Across the universe was "treated".
Trying to think of other songs. It just sounds like bs. Just another
way to resell the same old songs. Sorry but I don't get how this makes
Let it be any better. From what I read the Beatles themselves could
care less at the time. They did another album before Let it be was
released. To me they did a better album with Abbey Road. To my ears
Let it be had a cheap slopiness to the sound quality. I liked the
songs but...Here comes the sun, Something compared to For you blue and
I me mine? Let it be and long and winding stole the show but they
could have been surrounded by more polished songs. It's good for what
it was but I dont think a digital remix does it justice. And blasphemy
cutting out Lennon jokes.

For someone who likes vinyl it's not good, that's all I meant.
It's Phibe btw and that's why it sat on the shelf it was too bare. The
idea was to get back but I think they failed a bit. Their songwriting
grew in the studio not on stage. They did use a few throwbacks but the
A songs needed, cried out for pop arrangements. Spector did his job.

Totally misrepresented the balances/blends of the original. Original
mix was lovely.

Sorry, but I don't think I've ever heard either mix. All I remember is
seeing the movie, the original, not reprocessed, movie. In fact I
think it was right after a Thanksgiving dinner with some nutty
friends. I'm not sure what condition I saw that movie in. I don't
remember driving to the theater.

Call me a crazed consumer if you like, but I went out and bought 'Naked".

I do like the new mixes in their own right (you hear bits that are masked in
the original Spector production). However my overall impression of the
naked mixes is 'unfinished'. They could stand more production, though not
to the extent of the gunman's effort.
