FOR ITS DAY, the QUAD system was really good.
For its day. By today's standards not so much, but then they did not have what we had for a reference. You can not judge something made nearly 60 years ago by strictly modern standards. With only refurbishment and cleaning up a vintage QUAD tube system is, well, vintage. If you want vintage, then there you go. If not, buy a new one. The Quad equipment was made to work as a system with proprietary cables. This was good because it allowed the units to be switched remotely. Don't booger them up with IEC and RCA connectors. Leave them alone or build a new one from scratch. |
