Default visualization plugin

hi all,
in wavelab there is a "frequency meter" in the analyse-section. I really
like that function and would like to know if there are any freeware plugins
out there that do the same job since I would like to use it in the recording
process which I donīt do with wavelab. Also what is the correct expression
for "frequency meter"?
thanks.
