Default I need an OPX (off premises extension) for my business telephone.?

I own a small business; my office and warehouse are in 2 separate locations, less than a block away or 400 feet apart. I need an Off Premises Extension or something like it so my phone will ring at both locations.

Qwest offers this service, but they "nickel and dime" me for every service. Would love to find a less expensive option.

I need to keep my current phone number, would like to have voice-mail and caller id.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

I'm not sure why this is in rec.audio.pro and not in comp.dcom.telecom
where it would seem a lot more appropriate/

Quest just runs the same phone pair to two locations when you ask for
that service. If you own both buildings and the space between them,
there's no reason you can't just run your own cable between them and
multiply your pair out to more than one location yourself.

AS noted elsewhere this can easily be done, especially if
you own both properties.

Depending on what's in the intervening space between the
locations this might be done quite easily even if you don't
own both buildings, but we don't have enough information.
What's between them? *An alley possibly? *Other buildings?

Do you have a wireless phone or can you get your hands on one for a
test?
400 feet should be doable.

I would think so too MIke, that would be his easiest
solution.

That sort of range? Can anybody report one working building-to
building over such a distance?
