This group is so educational! I was able to guess the dobro before I read
the notes. I had never even heard of a dobro before I found RAP. When I was a tiny tot, small enough to hide behind Dad's easy chair and not get caught, my family used to visit a friend with a "hi fi". He had a wall full of speakers, turntables, and objects unknown to a 6 year old. Every time we went we listened to one or more songs like this (i.e. instrumental "easy listening" with a little "zest" to it). Roger's recording fits so well with those that I can't think of any comment to make except Thanks Roger for taking me back to happier times. It has that curious mix of well recorded but soft precision, like listening to FM on my Dad's old (now defunct) tube receiver. |
