A = 440 Hz implies a middle C = 261.63 Hz.
Middle C = 256 Hz gives the next higher A = 430.54 Hz.
Both based on each higher note being the 12th root of 2 times the one
below (they are 9 semitones apart.)
Someone check my calculation!
