[George M. Middius[_4_]]

There's a pattern to the mindless personal attacks launched by RAO's Idiots'
Brigade, aka the Hive, aka Arnii Kroo**** and the Mendacious Kroopologists.
These all-time losers have been trying desperately to undermine various
Normals' professional credentials for many years. They've attacked
salesdroids, editors and publishers, reviewers, and basically everybody who
has any credibility beyond having posted X thousand times on Usenet.

This variant of slander had its beginnings with its first targets, Zippy and
trotsky. Both Arnii Kroofeces and Steindrone fixated on Zippy with the zeal
of a pitchfork-waving lynch mob. Later, Mikey McBugEater joined in the
"fun". Zippy's reputation was never the best, but it was enhanced somewhat
when he was targeted by the 'borgs. A bit later, trotsky suffered the same
fate, at first when he was a retail salesperson and later when he tried
selling his own loudspeakers. The lengths to which the mental midgets went
in order to tarnish his reputation and that of his speakers was astonishing.

Also targeted by the Band Of Losers was Dr. Bruce Richman, who is a
practicing psychologist. Bruce liked to have fun with the 'borgs, as most
Normals do, by mocking their religious intonations and class envy. duh-Mikey
and the Ferstlerian sunk their dull little 'borg teeth into Bruce, accusing
him of "lying" about his identity and his profession. All the pea-brains
wanted was to provoke an angry reaction from a Normal who had some degree of
professional accomplishment. Sadly, Dr. Richman's brittleness let the
imbeciles score some of Their precious "debating trade" points. Never mind
that there was no earthly reason to even suspect Bruce was not who he said
he was. The 'borgs are so outclassed in any battle of wits that the only
fingerholds They can grasp are the most obvious ones.

Historically, the Normals most persistently and mindlessly targeted by the
'borgs are a handful of writers, editors, and reviewers who have visited RAO
over the years. We are all familiar with John Atkinson's periodic forays
into our little playpen. The 'borgs always have an exaggerated reaction to
everything John says here. Every 'borg and Kroopologist is obsessed with Mr.
Atkinson and Stereophile, even more so than Their other victims. Also in the
morons' filthy crosshairs have been Gene Lyle, Michael Fremer, Jonathan
Scull, and of late, Marc Phillips. For reasons mostly unknown, the 'borgs
are irresistibly drawn to attack Normals who use and review expensive audio
equipment. Maybe They fixate on these editors because so few manufacturers
bother with Usenet. Maybe it's because the merest mention of expensive gear
reminds Them of Their own persistent failures. But the pattern is clear:
Every 'borg and Kroopologist, from the supernally ****ty Krooborg through
StynchBlob and on down to Scottie Witlessmongrel, is obsessed with one or
more of the Normals who are involved in the media.

The individual motivations of these emotionally stunted creatures may never
be known, but we do know that They will never stop slandering and smearing
any audio professional who ventures onto Usenet.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to comprehend that much of the most
expensive gear currently on offer through the audio saloons and reviewed
and advertised in Stereopile and The Obsolete Sound is vastly overpriced
in terms of build cost and also is of average or only moderately bettter
than average quality sonically and constructionally.


Also, the older guys grew up having to have at least a basic knowledge of
electronics, which today's younger people have only rarely. Most of them
built kits and did a lot of repair work, experience which is sorely
lacking among those under 50. There's no substitute for this kind of
duespaying. When I was younger there was still an electronics hobby but it
was heavily being pushed into computers, the electronics magazines dropped
audio (and RF) almost completely for the microcomputer field. When
computers became commodisumo items the magazines simply folded. The one
bright spot was, and still is, Ed (don't call him Amanda) Dell and The
Audio Amateur/OCSL/AUdioXPress. (The twiode ****nerollis sprung up for a
little while with specialist semi-underground journals but they did not
last.)

Now of course people "don't have time" for DIY because they're all
working 60-90 hours a week if they are making any kind of money at all.
Hopefully the coming depression will give the yupsters a little time to
take up a hobby.
