Default Arny: A Poll

Arny's meltdown this week brings up a serious point. I feel that
normal human beings should be able to converse among themselves
without having to deal with the distractions of a genuinely insane
person attacking at random. Killfiling doesn't seem to work since
everyone can't help but poke fun at the circus monkey or become
otherwise entwined in Arny's "debating trade" parlor tricks.
Personally, if there was a way to click on a button and send Arny to a
Usenet recycling bin, I wouldn't hesitate. But I also realize that
there are many people here who enjoy tormenting Arny. It's the
perfect way to relieve stress after a tough day.

With that in mind, I'd like to hear people sound off about Arny, and
whether or not he should stay. Which one of the following most
closely matches your feelings about Arny:

a) He's disgusting and I want him to go. It bothers me that people
like this are allowed to roam freely on the Internet unchecked.
(That's my choice.)

b) I truly enjoy making Arny jump around on command. It's easy to
pull his string and make him say the same idiotic things over and
over.

c) I'm pretty indifferent to him. The trick is to ignore him.

d) Arny is important in the audio world. I respect his knowledge and
wish people would leave him alone so he can dispense his wisdom to the
Usenet masses.

e) Other (please feel free to elaborate, of course).

Somewhere between C and A, depending on his behavior.

This is pretty close to my feeling. Arnii leads the way through the
darkness. Mr. **** has shown us that fecality can be a viable "life"style,
that envy is the driving force in product development, and that ignorance is
all an un-juh-near needs in order to make his mark.

This is so very harsh. Please use the upcoming Season of Goodwill to reflect
on your intolerance.

b) I truly enjoy making Arny jump around on command. It's easy to

I distance myself from sadistic manipulation like this. This attitude is
fine for Witlessmongrel, and it was quite appropriate for the Ferstlerian,
but Arnii is too precious to abuse like this.

c) I'm pretty indifferent to him. The trick is to ignore him.

This is just silly. It's one thing to ignore an elephant -- you can just
walk around it. But a pile of a thousand turds fills every room with an
eye-watering stench that's impossible to ignore.

e) Other (please feel free to elaborate, of course).

I say we should all encourage Turdborg to do away with himself. We've
suggested many easy methods, including plunging into Lake Superior, taking a
header off the GM building, and stepping in front of a speeding bus. I
believe if we join our voices in a chorus of unanimity, the Krooborg might
possibly be induced to remove himself from our plane of existence.

I find watching the twistings and turnings of a disturbed mind very
entertaining to watch. Someone who never admits to a mistake, who
claims to have Jesus "on his side", who will go to outrageous and most
often deceptive lengths to "win" debates on Usenet, who believes that
"100s, if not thousands" of people love and admire him, and who
believes the Golden Rule is "Treat others as I perceive them to be
treating me" is the stuff of a legendary movie.

Face it: if GOIA was acting out a psychological thriller in a
Hollywood movie you'd probably pay $10 to see it. Look at what
"Silence of the Lambs" grossed, not to mention all of the Friday the
13th movies about GOIA's cousin Freddy. And we not only get to see it
live, it's free!
