Default KEL's new U47 FET "clone"

Okay, so it isn't really a "clone", per se, but rather an affectionate
likeness with a slightly more hyper pattern.

I had occasion to put one to use for a brief moment in a recording
session when my buddy brought one over that he got as a pre release
purchase for the folks at Kel Audio.

We hooked it through a Focusrite preamp and went straight into a MOTU
converter into Sonar 7, for those of you who want the signal chain
info.

I only got to use it on vocals, so this is an incomplete review, okay?

Well, my initial impression was that for 300 bucks, this little
microphone sounds wonderful. It isn't terribly sibilant, and is not as
"dull" as my C414B ULS in cardiod, as a comparative example. It isn't
quite as sibilant as my ATM4050 C/M5 either. So it lands a bit in the
middle. So if you're looking for the high end "airy" thing, this may
not do the trick. But, as I said, I didn't have a ton of time to give
it the total go.

So for the price, it is for me worth getting one or two and doing the
full on session test at all stations, drums, guitars (acoustic and
electric), room mics, overheads, etc.

If someone else can add to this, please do.
