Hi
I have a purchased a Musical Fidelity A5 CD player and amp which sound good but I believe could use an overhaul. They offer to repair but apparently have no upgrade or modding service. I have however seen several advertised on ebay and through google searches. Has anyone had such mods or updates done on their Musical Fidelity Hifi, and what were they? Did they really make a big difference, ie was it worth the cost? Your input/experiences much appreciated, Blu_glo |

The best way to upgrade Musical Fidelity gear is unload it on some other
son of a bitch and buy something better designed. -- Message posted using http://www.talkaboutaudio.com/group/rec.audio.opinion/ More information at http://www.talkaboutaudio.com/faq.html |

![]() Anybody running short of snot? Nobody ordered any, I'm sure of that. Nonetheless, we've received a rather putrid delivery of BorgSmugSnot. The Krooborg's signal receptors must be damaged. You're the first person I've heard complain about Musical Fidelity's designs. You must be very uninformed. Try to unclench yourself, Turdy. I'm sure he was talking about human beings, and more specifically, human being who enjoy listening to music. Obviously™ no mere flesh-and-blood human being could possibly know how an Audio 'Borg rates hifi gear. Your crew are the ones who have the blind, unreasoning faith in the unproven blinding rituals, after all. The aBxism religion is virtually a black hole for Normals. Instead of snotting on Normals who are unfamiliar with the mumbling and binary chatter that fills your auditory channels, a high-functioning 'borg should endeavor to inform us about your differing POV. |

MuFi is built using oddball parts they have cornered the supply of and they
make ridiculous and unverifiable claims. -- Message posted using http://www.talkaboutaudio.com/group/rec.audio.opinion/ More information at http://www.talkaboutaudio.com/faq.html |

See my previous posts. A glance at a tube manual from the relevant
era will show why Nuvistors were not used much in audio. They tended to be microphonic, being frame grid types. MuFi wanted a gimmick. |
