Default playlist software for radio stations?

Quick question, does anyone know what is the most widely used playlist
application used in pro radio stations (not internet radio) use? Do
all Clear Channel stations use the same application?

Is most all of the radio done digitally (mp3, wav, aif, etc) now? Or
is there still a significant portion still using more traditional
methods?

Thanks in advance!

Scott Studios is probably the most popular automation software for radio stations. It seems
to be called Google Radio Automation now that Google has bought Dmarc Broadcasting.

Are you referring to automation software, or software used to track what
human DJs are playing?

Well, most production studios are digital, even if they are playing LPs
live on the air today. At least the STL is usually digital.

Most stations are broadcasting directly off of automation systems, though,
rather than live. And the modern digital automation systems aren't really
any different than the cart machine and relay systems of the seventies,
aside from being more reliable and sounding better.

As far as modern digital automation systems go, look at the adds in
Radio World and you will see a bunch of them. Around here all of the
small market stations are running the Arrakis gear.

In terms of functionality, reliability, flexibility, ease of use, and
technical support I don't know of any that are worth what you pay for
them.

I do, it's called StationPlaylist www.stationplaylist.com
