Default Audio Technica 801-info please

I just inherited 2 of these mics. Does anybody have an opnion on what
they are good for or their value? Thanks.

If you need an omni condenser, they are priceless.



Thank you. The site only shows the AT 8010. I assume that is a newer
model. Mine doesn't have the roll-off. It's an XLRM cable. Can I can
get a cable that will allow it to be plugged into an XLR input on a
typical (Mackie) mixer? Would that be a XLRF to XLRM ?
They reccomend it for cymbals. I'll have to try that.

For a while these were very popular entry-level omni condenser mikes. They
are good for anything you'd use an omni for.

It's a lot easier to make a good cheap omni than a good cheap cardioid.
And it's really hard to make a good cheap figure-8.
