There aren't, the only restrictions are those imposed by the
individual nntp service and you still have to get them to enforce their
TOS. The only entity that could have contacted him with what he uses
now would be AOL or Google. Google doesn't contact you, they either
ignore the problem or they terminate the login. AOL rarely did anything
when they did offer Usenet access, now when you access groups through
someone else they see it as that services problem not theirs.

Since I do not advocate or condone illegal or violent acts and indeed
do not "spread hate" I am protected by the First Amendment in the US.



Something to consider, something we had a lot of trouble beating
into the head of AOL lusers back in the day; my server, my rules.
Basically the US Constitution does not apply here, if you access a group
through *my* server and I do not like what you do/say I can boot you
off. Since it is my privately owned server it's my way or the highway,
follow my Terms of Service or find another host. For some reason people
in AOL chat rooms thought that the first amendment covered their Phil
Allison like tirades. I'll reiterate that the biggest part of the battle
is getting the admin to enforce the ToS.

It's more than that, Bob. It's the craziness that comes with spending
your life on the Internet. It's the inability to converse in a normal
or meaningful manner. If I was wrong to say that Usenet threatened
me, it could have been quickly cleared up with a couple of exchanges
(like Jen was trying to do). I'll be the first to admit that I
phrased it wrong. I received an e-mail from AOL saying that I had
violated my TOS because of a Usenet-generated complaint. If I was
talking to normal people, that would be that. But looking at the
responses from Windsor Fox and Arny, I am again reminded of how creepy
and ****ed-up these morons are, and how they've lost touch with the
real world.

It's also funny how both of them have again revealed themselves to be
complete morons by coming to the aid of Ludwig. Again, if reporting
someone to their ISP no longer works, then so be it. I could care
less. It's amazing to watch people like Arny and Windsor Fox respond
the way they did, because it's clear that important things, like the
quality of their lives, no longer matter.

Arny's a guy who has hung around for more than a decade in a place
where most people despise him and think he's a sick, twisted

For what it's worth I asked the admin of the news server I use to
look at 2-3 of Bret's posts and assume one to three people complained.
He said he would be warned once and then tossed if he failed to comply.
BUT this person values quality over quantity. AT&T and Google don't
really care. I can show you some posts that are FAR more abusive than
anything you have seen in this group, even more than those toward you in
the past. Google has done a wonderful job of ignoring complaints.

terms are subjective and cannot be proven. Neither are they
exclusive. Not very precise thinking from an EE. Besides, I'm

declined. Any engineer worth his salt would have stood up and stated
