I have noticed a rather underwhelming outpouring of support for GOIA.
I suspect his name in the subject line was enough to keep all of his
"friends" on RAT away.

For technical reasons? I'm pretty sure they'll be just fine for audio.

*The 1625 is probably the best off-type value now. 807s are fairly
economic also.

I have at least three dozen of each type on hand, so even if the 1625
(a 12v 807, isn't it?) was only .10 each it isn't a better value. I
even have some old Philips brown-base EL34s and some NOS Mullards.

I just want to make a couple of nice tube monoblocks.

Who's making the best trannies these days? I have a pair of military
UTC 6v 10a power trannies, so specifically I'm curious about currently-
made outputs.
