Default Schoeps price increase

Trew Audio announced that their price on the CMC641 goes from $1,592 to
$1,939 in February with similar increases in other Schoeps products. I
don't know how this relates to other dealers' prices.

This is happening basically to all products made in Europe. The dollar
is collapsing to the point where the Italians are even making fun of our
currency.

If you want a Schoeps, AKG, or Sennheiser, better get it now.

I don't know why one would make fun of a predictable event.

Ultimately, we can expect it to be true for just about *everything*.

I don't know how many people remember life in the 70s.

Basically, we were running an expensive war in Vietnam, and also the Cold
War against the USSR. In the midst of all that, OPEC suddenly figured out
that they could control the oil market, and energy prices ballooned.
Meanwhile back in the US the public could hardly give a care, and gas-hog
luxury and muscle cars were all the rage. House sizes ballooned.

Lessee, translate Vietnam into Iraq, Cold War into appeasing China by buying
whatever they make, OPEC into OPEC, and muscle and luxury cars into SUVs.
Voila! It's 2008. ;-)

Everybody who is surprised should find a pointed cap and a corner to sit in.
