I have Paradigm Studio 20 speakers in a small room. I've had them for
number of years and quite happy in all regards ... except size. The
room is quite small and I'm thinking of new speakers. I have an
NAD7155...any suggestions for high end quality or otherwise
replacements? Thanks!

Are the Studio 20s too big or too small? I'd think they'd sound great in
a small room.

The room is small, space is the main issue. I want to get the most
'bank for the buck' in terms of quality sound with limited space. And,
how do monitors differ from other bookshelf type speakers?

That last is easy: the term is associated with studio monitors for
professional use, but is really just marketing. Pro monitors don't need
to be pleasing or even necessarily accurate, as per the recent mentions
of Yamaha NS-10s and Auratones.

I'd look for bookshelf speakers designed for placement close to the
wall, maybe NHT's Classic line.

Another possibility are the various versions of the BBC LS3/5a monitors,
though you should definitely be sure your amp can handle the low
efficiency.

I want to stay away from the satellite movement. Someone mentioned the
ERA 4 as an option.
