Hi all;
I have a full band coming in this coming weekend and I have never had to record more than 2 channels at one time. I have borrowed some additional equipment to accomodate the band coming in. Here's the preamps I have at my disposal: FMR RNP M-Audio DMP3 Focusrite TwinTrak Pro Presonus Firebox (there's 2 pre's on board I can use as standalone) Tascam FW-1804 (4 preamps built in, I am going to use this as the 10 channel interface to Firewire) ART DPSII Behringer Ultragain Pro 8 Digital Behringer Eirorack MX3242X mixing console I am trying to decide what priority to assign each preamp in terms of quality for DI'ing and Mic preamps. We are aiming to capture live floor takes but in the end we will be doing seperate takes for vocals and DI'ing guitars mostly (unless someone is dead set on using their amp and a mic for seperate takes). I have been using the FMR RNP for sometime and love it for vocals with a SM58, RE-20, and C4000B. I am not too familiar with the others. Can anyone comment or put these in a quality order? Connecting everything to the MX3242X would be easy but I am not too happy with the pre amp quality. Thanks in advance; Davey |
