I run Pro Tools 6.0 flawlessly on a 667mhz G4, OSX 10.2.3. The problem I
have is the limited compatability of plug ins so far, but several companies
have updates coming out in a few months.

I have been running PT 6.0.1 with OS 10.2.3 on a 2GHz, 2GB Silver
faced G4 and have not had any problems. Certainly none like people
stick on the DUC. I think that either competitors are posting crap on
there, there are some incredibly stupid people with too much money out
there, and/or these people are not getting in-house support, because
they box housed the system. Shoulda' bought from a dealer with
support!

Anyway, I have all Waves plugs, Bomb Factory, Sonic Solutions and
Digi's plugs and I have had no operational problems. I did do a
session in 96kHz and go to use my C4, and it doesn't do 96k. That's
the biggest bummer with plug ins is having to see into the future
needs of the session before deciding what sample rate you can use.

Are you certain that it's not 6.0.1? I've been beta testing 6.1, and it
hasn't been released yet (just went silver last week), so if you've got
6.1, something's weird.

I never said I had 6.1. I just mentioned the newest version.

The whole damn Pro Tools schtick is over-rated. It's the Honda Accord
of audio. Sure it's the "best selling" but so is 50 cent.

I never said I had 6.1. I just mentioned the newest version.

Um, you said "I just picked 6.1 as that was the newest release. if I had
said 6.0, I wonder
if wpople would have mentioned a newer version."

They made it public knowledge that they would be making it available
for download/ordering "mid July." It is mid July. I downloaded it
today. We'll see what it does now.
