Default Room acoustics and wood siding

And y'all are HALF-RIGHT about sheetrock. it absorbs TONS of low end
(otherwise
wouldn't stop much, eh ??) but reflects a lot of mids and most of the highs.

One layer of sheetrock with a wall cavity behind it does absorb a lot of bass.
However, two layers of 5/8 firecode GB with a layer of sheetbock sandwiched
between them is much more rigid and doesn't absorb much bass.
I guess what I'm saying is that to acurately assess the coefficient of
absorption of a sheetrocked surface in the low end you have to know how many
layers are used, how it's mounted, and what else is behind it in the barrier.

PS. I love the sound of porous wood as a finish surface as well.
