Default 100V on gain switch

I am designing a mic preamp with a gain control (pot) at the input to
the final CF stage. Trouble is the grid sits at well over 100V above
ground. I am reluctant to risk that high a voltage on a front panel user
control. I could just use a coupling capacitor but I would prefer to
avoid another zero in the transfer function (so far there are only two).
Any ideas how to avoid the coupling cap and the high volts on the gain pot?

Cheers

Ian
