NUENDO 2.0 on dual P3 933Mhz
Hello Everyone,
New to this group, hope my post is on-topic... My current DAW setup is Nuendo 1.6 on a dual p3 933Mhz machine. (iwill dvd-266 MB) This system is a real workhorse, and i have no complaints. However, i have recently checked out the reviews and product specs for nuendo 2.0 and i am starting to seriously consider upgrading. Seems with the new version that sytem requirements/sugguestions are a little steep for a single CPU machine. 1.6 Ghz P4/AMD or better. Just wondering if anyone has used nudeno 2.0 on a dual p3 system, and if so, how does performace compare to the same system running nuendo 1.xx. Id imagine a serious performance hit initially, but how are the new nuendo compression plugs as far as CPU usage? Nuendo 1.6 comp plugins are good, and not really CPU hogs as far as i can tell (not like waves, or other plugs which seem to assume you have unlimited CPU power.) Typically i work with at most 24 audio tracks at once. no midi. heh, basically im looking to avoid the ovewhelming cost of a dual xeon workstation. common complaint? any information is greatly appreciated. mike www.23skeedoo.com |
