Yes. Did it in my apartment 3 years ago..still up.

Some double sided tape might damage the paper on a sheetrock wall when you
try to remove it.

I scored 8 sheets of unused 4'x6' 1/8" luan Manny's Music was tossing out.
So I glued some Auralex I had to that and just nailed the boards to the wall
with roofing nails (large heads, easy to pull.) When they ever come down it's
dead easy to fill nail holes in sheetrock.

I also grabbed from the dumpster of a interior design place that closed 14
2'x2' samples of framed/fabric'ed 802 acoustic panels, a couple of 802 4'x6'
room divider panels in metal frames, and a couple 4'x5'x4" panels, wood on one
side and 802 on the other. Great stuff!

But my wife says I shouldn't be so proud of such behavior, really.
