I know. What I was saying is that one has to go into multi-disciplinary
studies to find all the information, so I'm not sure where to point you.

Roger, do you have any good sources on how much of a threat
that is and what we are possibly doing that could affect that?

Sources? How about the mass extinction of about 245 million years ago,
which has come down to being a eruption of methane sulfate during a

warming
period (way before humans were supposedly doing the warming) and,

although
it took a few thousand years because it wasn't enough to cause immediate
extinctions, we're talking about virtually all land based life and 70%

of
ocean born life.

Roger, I wasn't challenging you, I just want to look further
into this and to find out to what degree the global effects
civiliation is having on the planet influence that phenomenon.

Well, you should have said constipation because laxative means that things
are going away, and obviously things haven't gone away yet. However, my
friend, if it's really constipation then ultimately what goes in has to come
out, and it will all be over however explosively! g

You better hope, for the sake of RAP, that Kerry wins because if we have 4
more years of Bush, we have 4 more years of the **** you don't want to read!

Kerry Tells Bush to 'Get Real' on Assault Weapons

ST. LOUIS (Reuters) - Democratic candidate John Kerry (news - web sites)
on Friday said President Bush (news - web sites)'s failure to fight for
a renewal of a ban on assault weapons will make it easier for terrorists
to get the lethal weapons.

Citing the 9/11 commission and other reports, Kerry said that al Qaeda,
blamed for the attacks on America three years ago, had issued a manual
that urged followers to "come to America and buy assault weapons."

"Why is George Bush (news - web sites) making the job of terrorists
easier and making the job for America's police officers harder?" he
asked in a separate written statement.

Al, read this article:

This part supports my point:

Even groups that back renewing the law acknowledge the gun industry
found loopholes and that dangerous weapons do remain on U.S. streets.
But they argue that without the ban, the problem will grow worse.

It may grow worse, but the point is, it has never been very difficult
for anyone to buy weapons of this type in America if they are
determined to have them.

No Al,

The real question is why do you think you're so high on the food chain that
you can break the rules. Would it be so ****ing difficult for you to lift a

one?

The burden is on you, since you are in violation of the rules here. The fact
that this has been brought to your attention many times before indicates an
amazing level of hubris.

You'd think all that attitude could be put to much better use, even if it
were only to go to a newsgroup that addressed your concerns. I guess you must
just enjoy pooping on the path and ****ing people off. That's sort of sad.

I think that you've hit upon a fair analogy. Usenet is a shared, global
resource and therefore depends on the people using it to obey the
guidelines. To those people who respond to points like that with, 'Who
are you to tell me what to do? There's nothing you can do to stop me!',
it's difficult to know what to say.

This is an example of the ideology of 'modern people'. 'I'm alright jack
so **** you buddy!'. The idea of making a bit of a sacrifice by adhering
to the voluntary rules for the benefit of the common whole just doesn't
occur to them. Why should they, if they don't *have* to?

it's difficult to know what to say.

Dave Martin Roger, I've had dinner and hung out with Will - he's a good guy
in addition
to being a fine and knowledgeable audio engineer.

And I've lunched with Will. I concur with Dave. Just be sure to keep off
political issues & you'll find Will an amiable fellow & a fun audio hang.

Apparently you have not yet read the RAP charter. It forbids OT posting.

Every society has rules. Those who break them knowingly have boundary issues,
or worse.

Got it. But what about coffee, single malt whiskies, BBQ, hot sauce, tofu, &
all the other important OT issues of importance?

Ty eats and drinks and probably fornicates, too. How do those not fit
into audio work? Must not we do those in order to remain alive and sane?
Crazy dead people could deliver regrettable audio.

What's the date on that charter, Ty?

Perhaps its time for a constitutional reconvention in light
of all that has changed since then. There are lots of laws
on the books in lots of places that are just no longer
relevant and no longer enforced.
