Where can I buy a few PRECISION Capacitors?
Now you guys cant say there have been no posts here since December 2016. The schematic for this (1960's era) Eico 950b capacitor tester calls for a 2 mfd, .02 mfd, and .002 mfd, they must be PRECISION caps to make this thing accurate to test the caps being tested on it. It seems that resistors are rated at 1% or better, but not caps.... Thanks |

Generally when it comes to low-value 600V plastic caps these d= ays, they are far more precise off-the-shelf than anything not hand-screene= d in the 60s. I check _EVERY_ cap before I install it - and seldom have I f= ound a modern-production cap off its printed value by more than 5%, and mos= t of them fall within the 1%.=20 I keep all the values you need - it would be the work of a few moments to s= creen out a bunch for you.=20 Peter Wieck Melrose Park, PA |
