Actually, the regular MIDI cable connection SHOULD work, but it's working now, so don't fix it! Yup....if it ain't broke.... Except...I've been triggering with my Korg X-50. Unfortunately, my Yamaha P-85 only has the regular MIDI outputs, and does not have USB out. I think I should be able to go MIDI from the P-85 to the X-50, and then USB to computer.....it should work.... Or just buy a USB-MIDI converter for a few bucks and plug it in to a spare USB port.
