Default Fostex G24 1" analog machine Help?

Hi guys, once again I bought another analog machine. A Fostex G24 24 track 1" analog machine.

All the functions work play, record, rewind, fast forward. This is minus any levels on the leds. I tried all the channels and channel 12, 13, 24 show a little level. The rest won't show any level in line in or playback.

I tried sliding the 1st four channels out and cleaned the contacts and it didn't do anything. I have two reels of 499 tape. Both are good. I am wondering if its a computer problem? To arm a channel you push the button by it and the channel turns green+red. Not red. There also it a line input button. There also is dolby s noise reduction. A switch on the back has 3 position. none worked. I know a Tascam MS16 I once had needed a jumper plug to get it to work. Let me know if you know about this beast. Glenn.

Ok thanks for the help. I put the deck aside for now. I have heart surgery on monday. Am going to kill some time on something else next few days. When I get out of the hospital I will find a local tech to help me with the power supply. There is a guy that rebuilds these channel for $60 each for these machines are known for their caps that go bad 40 caps per channel. 24 channels= $1440. This machine is not worth it. GT
