Default How do I install VST instruments into Cubase SX Mac OS X?

Ok, Im fairly new to macs.. Bought a powerbook the other day. I have OSX
v10.2.4 and Cubase SX v1.05.4.

I have downloaded various VST instruments and uncompressed them. After
uncompressing them a file appears usually with an icon with a white sheet.
If i double click on it, it opens cubase sx, but the instrument does not
appear in the VST instruments menu (under devices).

Am I supposed to place these files in a folder somewhere?? Ive tried
searching for a solution on deja and google but I have had no luck. Tried
placing them in the components folder under under library, but still no
luck..

Can someone please help me out? Ive been tearing my hair out over this. (It
was all so simple in Windows XP).

Thanks

Paul
