Thinking primarily of vocal tracks, how intensely should you expect to eq something? Should the sound of the mic be mostly "good" as is and should need only mild tweaking or is it often pretty radically altered? My general feeling is never to use any EQ except when you absolutely positively cannot get the sound you want by changing the mike, the position, or the room. But I don't do pop music with super dense mixes where everything is very tightly slammed together. If I were in that business I might be doing very radical EQ at the expense of natural vocal sounds. Thank God I'm not. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |
