There was a lot more switching around than many people realize; George on bass, John on lead, etc. |

I heard a rumor once that Ringo's vocals were manipulated to be in tune on Beatles albums. I wonder if that was true. Pitch change without tempo change was a much later, digital process. He was not the world's greatest singer but he always made a fair job of the vocals he was given, "Act Naturally" was pretty good:-) It was of course possible to bring a guitar tuned flat to the right pitch by running the tape a little slower whe recording. This same trick could be used as an double tracking effect too, by recording the first guitar at the right speed, and slowing the tape by 2% (about a quarter of a semitone) for the second pass. At the right speed. the second guitar sounded brighter, and the overall effect, with the two panned l+r was like a massive twelve string:-) Iain |

For your edification I will give you an example of what proof is, so that you may understand what it is. Here follows a verbatim quote from you posting under the pseudonym "calvin coolidge" (message id: ) which proves that you are a liar. Enjoy ;-) Question posed to Marc : Are you sure "James" was the Krooglebeast's sockpuppet? Marc's response : It was verified using software programs... Plus he admitted it in a private email. Marc contradicts himself : I remember seeing something that proved it wasn't Arny. -- Jim Smith |
