Default Faster T.C.Electronic repair?

I just had a new power supply installed in my t.c.electronic Gold
Channel digital mic preamp. Repair was done by t.c.electronic in
California. Price was fair and work was good, but the total time from
request for service to return of product was SIX WEEKS (3/19 to
4/30).

As this product is long out of warranty and discontinued by
t.c.electronic, is there anyone with FASTER service should I need it
in the future?

A few years ago I experienced about the same standard of promptness for
an in-warranty repair of a TC piece. Don't know what to tell you, but I
tell myself I'm not buying any more of their stuff.

In the UK, TC Electronic is one of those companies (like Behringer) where
service info and parts are just not available. You have to return it to an
authorised service centre. What that says about a company I am not sure,
but it doesn't impress me much.

In the absence of this policy, any local tech could perhaps have repaired,
but certainly could have ordered up, the PSU, and you might have had it back
within a few days.

The words shoot and foot come to mind.
