Default ASIO drivers and WIN XP

Can someone explain if it is possible to use 2 different audio cards from 2
different manufacurers using ASIO drivers under win xp. I've tried with
SONAR, Cubase and CEP, no go. I have an ECHO MIA and an Event EZ8. I would
like to use both cards at the same time. I have no problems using all of my
3 cards (SB Live as well) with either Cakewalk Pro Audio 9, Soundforge or
Acid under Win 98se.

Thanks Michael

You can, but with WDM - not with ASIO.

You are confused. It's imposible to use more than 1 card at one time
with ASIO drivers, under any OS/ application. You can use all the
cards at the same time, in all mentioned applications and OSs, but
only with WDM, or VXD drivers.

WDM drivers are those you find listed in Windows - Settings - Controll
Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices.

Those same drivers you'll find in Cubase - Devices SetUp -
VST Multitrack - ASIO Driver, under "ASIO Multimedia Driver".

You can not with ASIO.

Remember there is only one "ASIO Controll panel" button in a application and
you can only select one driver at a time.

If the manufacture has a multible card ASIO driver then you can use several
of the same card ( still one ASIO driver ), but not different cards (
several drivers ).

Thanks Michael
