Can someone explain if it is possible to use 2 different audio cards from 2
different manufacurers using ASIO drivers under win xp. I've tried with SONAR, Cubase and CEP, no go. I have an ECHO MIA and an Event EZ8. I would like to use both cards at the same time. I have no problems using all of my 3 cards (SB Live as well) with either Cakewalk Pro Audio 9, Soundforge or Acid under Win 98se. Thanks Michael |

It's imposible to use more than 1 card at one time with ASIO drivers, under any OS/ application. You can use all the cards at the same time, in all mentioned applications and OSs, but only with WDM, or VXD drivers. How do I use WDM drivers in XP? WDM drivers are those you find listed in Windows - Settings - Controll Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices. Those same drivers you'll find in Cubase - Devices SetUp - VST Multitrack - ASIO Driver, under "ASIO Multimedia Driver". Remember there is only one "ASIO Controll panel" button in a application and you can only select one driver at a time. If the manufacture has a multible card ASIO driver then you can use several of the same card ( still one ASIO driver ), but not different cards ( several drivers ). Thanks Michael |
