Default Grace

I just wanted to take a second to sing the praises of Grace Designs.
The audio quality of their products is often discussed, so I won't
carry on about the pristine beauty and clarity of their mic pres....

But I want to share a recent customer service experience that has
ensured that I will be a lifetime user and advocate....

About a month ago, I bought a used 801 on eBay for $2400. The unit
was described as being in full working condition, but upon arrival,
the pot on channel 8 was clearly broken. While $2400 is a great price
for 8 channels of excellent pre, I was disappointed that I was
immediately going to have to spend additional time and money getting
the situation corrected.

After the seller failed to respond to numerous phone calls, I
contacted Grace directly. I was transferred to Michael Grace himself
and, after providing the serial number, was told that my unit still
had nearly 2 years left on its warranty - even though I was not the
original owner! And it seemed to me that the pot was probably broken
because of abuse to the unit. Still, Grace happily offered to make
the box "electronically like-new" and even pay for shipping! Since I
had a session coming up, I paid for express shipping out of my pocket,
but was grateful to Grace that they were willing to expedite the
repair, and get the unit back out the door to me just two days after
receiving it.

I've not experienced this kind of friendly, accommodating, no-
questions-asked, customer service from any equipment manufacture I've
ever dealt with. Grace made me feel like a valued customer even
though they had made not one additional dollar off of my second-hand
purchase of their equipment.

I can say without reservation that if you are looking for pristine
transparency in a mic pre and want the peace of mind of having a
company that backs their products 100%, you cannot go wrong with Grace
Designs.

Cheers,
Steve
