The problem wasn't mine.

But FWIW I do connect straight to (via passive level control !) monitors,
and disable all monitor via the 'driver' applet. All my monitoring is via
my software applications, on the machine I edit on, with the Audiophile.

On my recording machines any inout monitoring is via a mixer, and none thru
the software app..
