Steve,

I'm not sure what "seemed to improve things" means. If it brings up the high end, then the
cap is too small. If it reduces the low-mid range, then the small speaker is out of phase
with the woofer, reducing the low-mids and making the treble seem higher by contrast -- not
a good overall solution.
