Denon DVD 2900 CD playback vs. DCD 1650AR

Can anyone comment on the analog redbook (CD) output of the DVD 2900
compared with that of the fine 1650AR? I have the latter and am considering
replacing it with the former. I hear the SACD and DVD-A performance is
excellent.
