Probably, but the compression mavens and codec-gurus at hydrogenaudio.com
speak highly of Monkeyaudio, FLAC and other lossless compressors. THeya lso offer
links to ABX tools for comparing different compression schemes. If ound this
to be a great introduction to the various formats
