Connected how, and to what ProTools system, to do what? You can make a pair of analog connections to an M-Box, but I suspect that's not all you want to hear. Sample question: "What do I need to do in order to connect the ADAT optical I/O on a Spirit 328 to a Digidesign 003?" Sample answer: "Sure." Sample question: "Can the 328 act as a control surface for ProTools" Sample answer: "Gee, I dunno. I doubt it though." |

Mike sorry, you are absolutely right. With the audio connections the
desk is beautifully connected ![]() My problem is exactly with the Sample question No.2: "Can the 328 act as a control surface for ProTools" The option is definitely there. The Soundcraft website have a .pdf specifically for the subject but at least in my case they do not seem to be implemented that great. I've got the faders moving, but that's it were joy stops. If anyone knows anything more about it please do let me know. Many thanks |

I think ProTools was around Version 4 or 5 when that console was designed and one of the things that they keep changing is how remote control is implemented. And of course the console has been discontinued for a while, which means that sustaining engineering and support has been discontinued, so you aren't going to get an update that converts it to the current HUI standard. You do what you can, and when you can't, you just have to reach further. You might consider getting a Frontier Design Tranzport to use as a remote control for the ProTools recording functions. It's cheaper than a hair transplant job. ![]() |
