I need to replace a very old Nakamichi music-bank style CD changer whose music
bank broke. I'm looking at two models right now, both at the low-end of the audiophile range: the Denon DCM380 and the Marantz CC4300. (I have audiophile ears but not the matching budget.) I'm looking for a warm, open, natural sound; I've listened to both of these players, but since they aren't being sold in the same store, I don't have a feel for how they compare. If someone has experience with either of these two units, I'd like to know what you think about the one you know, please. If someone has experience with *both* of the units and can compare them, that would be just great. As an aside: I also listened to the Rotel RCC-1055. It sounded much nicer than the Marantz, much warmer sounding. On the other hand, the price is a lot higher, and I've found a lot of bad reports on the Net about Rotels that didn't work as they should and folks having trouble with Rotel's factory service. That *is* the sound I like, though. If anyone has any other suggestions of CD changers I should look at, I'm open to those, as well. My price point is ideally around $300 to $500. Thanks so much. beeswing |
