I work on a Linux machine, and was given a script, with which I am
converting my CD collection into mp3 files, using cdparanoia and lame.

Does similar software exist on a Mac? I am recommending this to a friend,
who works on a Mac.

Yes, it's called "iTunes." You may have heard of it. Works
automatically: Put in the CD, click the "import" button, and you're
done.

Better yet, use the LAME plugin for iTunes. The MP3 encoder built-into
Itunes is, uh, lame It's fast and lousy. Apple's subtle way of
suggesting you fuhgetabout MP3 and use AAC instead.
