I have a Harmon Kardon ST-7 turntable, Rotel BX-60 intergraded amp
with no phono stage and NAD 541i cd player, but I want to add a phono preamp, I wonder if Radio Shack phono per-amplifier would it work for me or should I get NAD stereo pre-amplifier wich is thee times the money. I not a audiophile person just as long it sounds good to me, I have a milk two milk case full of albums wich I dont want to spend to much money on it. |

The RadioShack one will work if the turntable has a moving magnet or other high-output magnetic type cartridge in it. If it's a low-output moving coil, it won't have enough gain and won't load the cartridge properly. The NAD will work better but it sounds like it won't be worth the extra cost, for you. -GP |
