Default Head Recommendations for 1936 Cabinet

I was wondering what head you guys would recommend to match up with a
Marshall 1936 cabinet I have kicking around. I am looking for the
official metal *gunk-gunk-gunk* sound (i.e., really fast and tight low
end)

I have a JMP-1 preamp, which just doesn't do it for me. It sounds slow
and bloated. (It's fine for commercial pop-rock if the guitar isn't
too prominent.)

Thanks for your help!

I just had the opportunity to demo the new Marshall Kerry King
Signture amp, and was blown away. It realy delivers the knock, and has
a a really smooth character to the overdrive... as well as a built in
noisegate. The Bogner Uberschall is also cool but insanely pricey.

An INCREDIBLY underrated amp is the the Peavey XXX, which i feel has a
less granular sound than the Mesa. Those Mesas can be positively
horrifying and the travel on the gain knob sucks. You're either at
****ty anemic clean or full buzz, with little in between.
