Hey all,
I have a chance to get some cheaper priced DVD's (sopranos) available in 2.0. However, the more expensive versions are available in 5.1. Is there a huge difference here that will affect sound quality? Thanks, John |

It could have been extracted from the original stereo (which sometimes can sound quite good), or it could have been mixed in 5.1 but the rear channels may only be used occasionally, which is a taste call of the mixer, producer and director. If you can, check out the titles at a website like Widescreen Review or the like for a review that includes how dramatic the audio in 5.1 actually is. That will give you a better idea if it's worth the extra money. -- Bobby Owsinski Surround Associates http://www.surroundassociates.com |
